AI’s Impact on Digital Marketing Strategies In 2023

Do you know AI is revolutionizing businesses and their marketing plans? Artificial intelligence (AI) has been a hot topic in the digital marketing industry for quite a long time now.

Trends have changed and AI has created a vast difference in working and planning strategies for marketing purposes. Having the ability to gather and analyze large amounts of data in just a few seconds has changed how companies approach the digital market now.

Chatbots

AI-powered chatbots are being used by companies to enhance their productivity, and customer handling, and reduce human efforts. This automated messaging system can be used to help customers with their queries and give them suggestions, also answering a lot of questions at once and being available round-the-clock.

Comprehending customer inquiries and responding appropriately in real-time using artificial intelligence chatbots are being used by companies.

Do Chatbots Market the Business?

Unlike a human being, AI Chatbot does not go out and market your company. However, it is a marketing tool especially on social media, because they can deliver targeted messages on your behalf, collect customer data to help you target messaging, and provide customer service that is beneficial to both the company and the customer.

Chatbots are very good at converting the viewers into buyers just by locating the desired products and asking the customers some specific questions according to the gathered data.

Creating the Content

Content creation is where actual human effort is needed a lot. It takes time, intelligence, ideas, and administration of plans to create high-quality and customer-centered content for marketing purposes.

It is predicted by experts that data generation all over the World is going to be more than 180 zetta-bytes by 2025. And there is no doubt that AI and machine learning will have a significant role in developing and creating the content at that time.

Let’s see how AI content creation is helpful in digital marketing;

  1. Enhances the Social Media Content Performance:

Social media primarily plays a role in moving customers to their sales funnel. In the same manner, advertisers and marketers make themselves aware of the demographical data of their followers to create social media content that appeals to them.

A Special Sign That You Have A High IQ

An easy way to tell that you have higher intelligence.

Being a free spirit and refusing to conform with others is a sign of high IQ, research finds.

People with higher intelligence are less likely to follow the crowd, preferring to make their own decisions.

As a species, humans are remarkably open to social influence: people like to copy others, feeling that there is safety in numbers.

However, the effect can be damaging as some will deny their own senses to go along with others.

Instead, those with higher IQs only follow the crowd strategically.

For the study, 101 people were given a test that involved comparing the lengths of different lines.

They only had to decide which was longest, but not until they had been informed what other people thought.

The results clearly showed that people would deny information from their own senses to fit in with what other people thought.

In other words, many people preferred to be in the majority, rather than to be correct.

However, more intelligent people were less likely to go along with the majority.

The classic study on social influence (the Asch conformity experiment) was carried out by Professor Solomon Asch almost 70 years ago.

He found that 76% of people denied their own senses at least once to go along with others.

Often, though, social conformity is no bad thing, said Dr Michael Muthukrishna, who led the study:

“People are conformist – and that’s a good thing for cultural evolution.

By being conformist, we copy the things that are popular in the world.

And those things are often good and useful.

Our whole world is made up of things that we do that are good for us, but we don’t know why.

And we don’t need to know why.

We just need to know that most people do those things.”

The study was published in the journal Evolution and Behavior (Muthukrishna et al., 2015).

7 Questions to Create Brag Time

7 Questions to Create Brag Time

Give team members brag time in one-on-one meetings.

Bad stuff:

Bad overshadows good. You’re rightly concerned about making things better and solving problems. But constant concerns suck the life out of people.

You call issues and problems learning opportunities. Sometimes our ‘learning’ muscle needs a break.

Leadership quote: Give people brag time in your one-on-ones. Image of a person with a megaphone.Leadership quote: Give people brag time in your one-on-ones. Image of a person with a megaphone.

7 questions to create brag time:

  1. What are you glad you’re doing?
  2. What’s energizing you this week?
  3. What’s working?
  4. What do you want to do more of?
  5. What’s the best thing you’ve done at work this week?
  6. What’s the best thing you’ve done for your team this week?
  7. What’s the best thing you’ve done for a customer this week?

Brag to me:

Sometimes I just begin a coaching conversation with, “Brag to me.”

Introduction to brag time:

You can start brag time by saying…

“There are always issues to resolve. You deal with them all the time. You can’t brag to employees and colleagues. But you can brag to me.”

OR

“Let’s talk about some good things for a few minutes.”

Brag about:

Before one-on-ones I take three minutes to do four things.

  1. Take a few deep breaths to create a break from what I was just doing.
  2. Reflect on what I admire about the person I’m going to meet with.
  3. Choose how I want to show up.
  4. Listen for any questions or topics to come to mind that I might bring up.

Sometimes I tell people what I admire about them.

Indirect brags:

I brag in indirect ways when I say things like:

  1. I only work with top performers.
  2. I only work with high aspiration people.
  3. I admire and respect everyone I work with.

How might leaders integrate brag time into their one-on-ones?

Quiet Quitting – 5 Questions that Confront Quiet Quitting

Quiet Quitting – 5 Questions that Confront Quiet Quitting

Quiet quitting is a disaster. I’m not thinking about organizations. It’s a disaster for everyone. Doing the minimum at work is circling a black hole.

Quiet quitting is disengagement. Disengagement is boring. Imagine waiting for the day to end – day after day after day.

Engagement is necessary to flourish according to Martin Seligman. Engagement is getting lost in enjoyable challenges that mean something to you. (Read Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s book, “Flow,” to get a grip on engagement.)

Leadership quote: Quiet quitting - doing the minimum at work - is circling a black hole. Image of a black hole.Leadership quote: Quiet quitting - doing the minimum at work - is circling a black hole. Image of a black hole.

5 questions that confront quiet quitting:

Quiet quitting is a leadership opportunity.

#1. How can you define ‘bigger’?

Feeling part of something bigger than yourself is part of belonging. Being part of a high functioning team enhances meaning at work.

#2. How are you letting people know their contribution matters?

If someone’s work doesn’t matter, why are you paying for it? Everyone’s contribution matters. If it doesn’t, eliminate their job.

Quiet quitting: Going above and beyond is beyond me. Image of a person resting their head on the desk.Quiet quitting: Going above and beyond is beyond me. Image of a person resting their head on the desk.

#3. How can you encourage people to support each other?

Soldiers don’t simply fight to win battles; they fight for each other. Feeling supported feels like belonging.

Don’t shoot your wounded.

#4. How can you be loyal to team members?

Expendable people feel devalued. Why should people give their best when all that matters is the bottom line?

If you want people to be loyal to you, be loyal to them.

#5. How can you teach people that hard is meaningful and easy is boring?

Olympic medals are meaningful because people sweat to earn them. Sweat gives value. Trophies for showing up insult our potential. Only children brag about trophies for showing up.

Meaning energizes hard work. Belonging feels like meaning.

If you want people to engage, ask, “How can I create opportunities for people to feel like they belong?”

What is true when you feel like you belong?

How can leaders make a sense of belonging more likely?

Switching To These 3 Drinks Could Quadruple Weight Loss

Three simple and delicious drinks that have all been linked by research to weight loss.

Low-fat milk, water and yerba mate tea have all been linked to weight loss.

Yerba mate tea is a herbal tea which is an excellent source of flavonoids, amino acids, vitamin C, B1 and B2 and minerals providing several health benefits.

This traditional south-eastern Latin American tea is sold as a stimulant due to its caffeine.

Research has found that it can boost weight loss.

In addition, replacing just one sugary soda with water can lead to weight loss and improve health.

Indeed, one study has linked drinking a pint of water before every meal to losing five times as much weight.

Changing to water also decreases fasting glucose levels, which is better for weight loss and general health.

Drinking water is one of the most popular weight loss techniques used by people.

On top of mate tea and water, a couple of glasses of fat-free milk each day could double weight loss, research finds.

A study of 322 overweight people revealed that those drinking two glasses of low-fat milk each day doubled their weight loss compared to those who drank around half-a-glass.

Dr Greg Miller, an expert in food science and human nutrition, said:

“The good news for the public is that you can follow these recommendation for 3 servings of dairy foods each day and get the nutrition benefits without concern of extra weight gain.

If you’re cutting calories to lose weight, it’s important to get your 3 servings of dairy foods each day for good health and to enhance your weight loss efforts.”

Drinks like mate, water and milk are all an improvement on sugary drinks, said Dr Kiyah J. Duffey, author of study on the subject:

“We found that among U.S. adults who consume one serving of sugar-sweetened beverages per day, replacing that drink with water lowered the percent of calories coming from drinks from 17 to 11 percent.

Even those who consumed more sugary drinks per day could still benefit from water replacement, dropping the amount of calories coming from beverages to less than 25 percent of their daily caloric intake.”

The study was published in the journals American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Nutrients & Journal of Functional Foods (Duffey & Poti, 2016Rajpathak et al., 2006; Zapata, et al., 2019).

Data-driven Marketing: How Graphs & Charts Transform Digital Strategies

In the world of digital marketing, data is king. With so much information available, it can be overwhelming to try and make sense of it all. One of the best ways to gain insight into digital marketing trends is through the use of graphs.

Graphs can help to visualize complex data sets and identify patterns that may not be immediately apparent when looking at raw data. In this article, we will explore the top nine graphs for revealing digital marketing trends.

Line Graphs For Digital Trends

Line graphs are one of the most commonly used graphs in digital marketing. They are particularly useful for showing how a particular metric has changed over time. For example, a line graph could be used to show how website traffic has changed over the course of a year.

By plotting data points over time, it is easy to see any trends or patterns that may have emerged. Line graphs can also be used to compare data sets over time, such as comparing the performance of two different marketing campaigns.

Chord Diagrams Connecting Different Marketing Channels

Chord diagrams are a type of visualization that show the connections between different variables. They are often used to show the relationship between different parts of a complex system or network.

In digital marketing, chord diagrams can be used to show how different channels (such as social media, email marketing, and search engine marketing) are related to each other. By visualizing the connections between different channels, businesses can optimize their marketing mix and ensure that each channel is working together to achieve their marketing goals.

Scatter Plots for Digital Correlations

Scatter plots are often used in digital marketing to show the relationship between two different metrics. For example, a scatter plot, designed by a graph creator, could be used to show how the bounce rate on a website correlates with the time spent on the site.

By plotting data points on an x and y axis, it is easy to see any correlations that may exist between the two metrics. Scatter plots can also be used to identify any outliers within a data set.

Bubble Charts Show How Differing Variables Relate to Each other

Bubble charts are similar to scatter plots, but they add a third variable to the mix by varying the size of the bubbles based on a third data point. This can be a useful way to visualize trends and patterns in complex data sets.

In digital marketing, bubble charts can be used to show how different variables (such as ad spend, click-through rate, and conversion rate) are related to each other.

Bar Graphs for Quick Comparisons

Bar graphs are another common graph used in digital marketing. They are particularly useful for comparing different data sets. For…

The Ultimate Pursuit of Leadership

The Ultimate Pursuit of Leadership

It’s normal to complain; it’s leadership to make something better.

The consistent pursuit of improvement yields unfathomable advantage.

Improvement is the ultimate pursuit of leadership.

Leadership quote: The consistent pursuit of improvement yields unfathomable advantage. Image of a person rock climbing.Leadership quote: The consistent pursuit of improvement yields unfathomable advantage. Image of a person rock climbing.

Choose the goal:

Know where you’re going before you begin. Stephen R. Covey said, “Begin with the end in mind®,” in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Improvement is success if you improve the right things.

When you aspire to remarkable leadership, begin in three areas: self-knowledge, strengths/talents, and fatal flaws.

Pursuit #1: Improve self-knowledge:

“Everything in leadership starts with self-reflection,” says Harry Kraemer, former CEO of Baxter Pharmaceuticals. Harry told me the biggest challenge of leadership is knowing yourself. If you don’t know yourself, you can’t lead yourself. If you can’t lead yourself, how can you lead others?

Pursuit #2: Improve strengths and talents:

Gallup says, “A strength is the ability to consistently provide near-perfect performance in a specific activity. Talents are naturally recurring patterns of thought, feeling, or behavior that can be productively applied.”

Pursuit #3: Improve fatal flaws:

Not all flaws are equal.

Some flaws are low-impact inconveniences. Other weaknesses are fatal flaws that hold you back.

10 fatal flaws of leadership:

  1. Low energy and enthusiasm.
  2. Accepting mediocrity.
  3. Lack of vision and direction.
  4. Poor judgement.
  5. Resistance to collaboration.
  6. Not walking the talk. Inconsistency.
  7. Resisting new ideas.
  8. Not learning from mistakes.
  9. Lacking personal skills. (Low EQ)
  10. Failing to develop people.

The above list is adapted from the research of Zinger and Folkman.

Leadership quote: The pursuit of excellence is a journey without an end. Image of a compass.Leadership quote: The pursuit of excellence is a journey without an end. Image of a compass.

Pursuit oriented questions:

Ask questions that reflect commitment to improvement:

  1. What can we make better today? Embrace the brutal facts and work to improve something.
  2. What’s the next step? Leaders think more about the next step than the last step.
  3. What roadblocks to progress can we remove?
  4. What’s holding us back? (Ask with the intention of accelerating improvement.)

What will you improve today?

A personal afterword:

On a personal level I work to improve two things, simplicity and writing. It’s distraction when we try to improve everything. Focus on aspirations. I aspire to a simple life, and I aspire to be a good writer.

This ‘Good’ Relationship Pattern Is Surprisingly Toxic

The pattern can even lead to depression and anxiety.

Too much commitment to a relationship can be surprisingly toxic, research shows.

While relationship commitment is usually thought of as a good thing, excessive commitment can be damaging

The reason is that being too committed can lead to small things getting blown out of proportion — it can even lead to depression and anxiety.

It comes about when a person invests too much of their self-esteem in their relationship.

In other words, they believe their own self-worth is controlled by how well their relationship is going.

This is bad for the person and the relationship.

Psychologists term this high ‘relationship-contingent self-esteem’ (RCSE)

Professor Raymond Knee, the study’s first author, said:

“Individuals with high levels of RCSE are very committed to their relationships, but they also find themselves at risk to become devastated when something goes wrong — even a relatively minor event.

An overwhelming amount of the wrong kind of commitment can actually undermine a relationship.”

In the key study, 198 people recorded the ups and downs of their romantic relationships in a diary for two weeks.

Professor Knee explained the results:

“What we found with this particular study was that people with higher levels of RCSE felt worse about themselves during negative moments in their relationships.

It’s as if it doesn’t matter why the negative occurrence happens or who was at fault.

The partners with stronger RCSE still feel badly about themselves.”

People whose self-esteem is invested too much in the relationship react very emotionally to problems.

Professor Knee said:

“When something happens in a relationship, these individuals don’t separate themselves from it.

They immediately feel personally connected to any negative circumstance in a relationship and become anxious, more depressed and hostile.”

The study was published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology (Knee et al., 2008).
